DAYCARE CLOSURES, HOLIDAYS and VACATION POLICIES
Daycare is open Monday through Friday except for the holidays listed below. If a holiday falls on a weekend, Daycare will be closed the Friday before or the Monday following. You will be notified ahead of time as to which.
These closures remain the same from year to year so when you replace your calendar- Please make an effort to mark your calendars with these closures ahead of time.
HOLIDAY CLOSURES:
*New Years Eve * New Years Day * The day after New Years Day
*Martin Luther King Jr Day *Presidents Day *Good Friday
*Memorial Day *Juneteenth *4th Of July * The day after 4th of July
*Labor Day *Columbus Day
*Thanksgiving *The day after Thanksgiving
*Christmas Eve *Christmas Day *The day after Christmas
THESE ARE PAID HOLIDAYS.
In addition Daycare is also closed for a summer (14 non holiday WEEK days) and winter (7 non holiday WEEK days) vacation period. 13 paid personal/sick days are also reserved annually for days I am unwell, my children are unwell or I need to attend doctor appointments, school meetings or for personal reasons.
*Our Vacation policy is 7 days of Summer vacation is PAID vacation. 7 days is UNPAID. Winter Vacation is 7 non holiday WEEK days of PAID vacation, Since this time falls during Christmas and New Year time frame, several of the days are paid Holiday Days. The 7 vacation days are in addition to those holiday days.
I reserve 13 PAID Personal Days per year for instances of illness, personal time etc. ***An additional day is accrued per year.
*You will always receive at least 6 weeks notice of planned vacation time or planned personal days. Sick days are obviously not able to be planned so I appreciate your understanding in the case of my illness or emergencies that require me to have a day off.
It is your responsibility to mark your calendar with the holiday closures that remain the same annually.
**All the Holiday Closures above are PAID HOLIDAY CLOSURES.
**Any additional days that you keep your child at home for your vacation, personal day, or illness is also PAID.
All this information is also in our Handbook and on the contract you signed when enrolling your child in my care. It is not negotiable.
I reserve the right to take a day off as I please, just as you do at your job.
