After School care : 3 openings 2024/2025 school year
** PLEASE NOTE: Rates for After School care is increasing to $150 per week for the 2024/2025 school year. Before School care is provided on as needed basis and additional charge is accessed for that care.
Part Time care is not offered. If you choose part time schedule, full time rates are charged. Part time is extremely difficult on a child and caregiver.
Teachers: Please contact me for information in regards to teacher schedules.
A note about Infant Care: Infant openings are very rare. I usually have a waiting list so I don't always have an immediate opening, I do recommend beginning your daycare search well ahead of time to ensure you will be able to secure daycare for your child prior to the end of your maternity leave. When placing your infant into my care, I do ask for a long term commitment of at least 2 years of care. Priority is given to current clients and referrals of current clients and then on a first come first serve basis if a good fit is established. Infant Spots are rarely advertised.
Waiting List
If there is no available openings for your child, please do not be discouraged. You can place your child on the wait list by sending me an email with your child's name and age and I will contact you as soon as an open space presents itself.
There are currently 2 families on the waiting list. Families are contacted in order of inquiry.
Family Information Session:
Inquiring families are offered the opportunity to attend an Information Session. My current availability is a Tuesday or Thursday evenings after 6.30pm Only. If you'd like to meet, I can send you my current availability.
*You are required to read thoroughly our handbook that contains our policies prior to our info session please. I find it is best to have all the information upfront. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND YOUR INFO SESSION IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE HANDBOOK. I will ask at the beginning of the meeting and if you have not read the handbook, I will reschedule your meeting for a later date. I also like to make my expectations clear from beginning
so please find those in the EXPECTATIONS tab above.
The purpose and goal of the info session is for me to get a feel for your family, your child and your daycare needs. I need to determine if my daycare will be a good fit for your family, your needs and if your child feels comfortable in my home. I hope that these will be your goals too.
**There are often multiple families at one session so please keep this in mind.
During the Information session, a presentation will be given on the ins and outs of our daycare, a series of questions related to your child and your prior child care experiences will be asked. I will also encourage you to ask questions.
Your child or children are required to attend the information sessions (unless you are still pregnant). Also please note that multiple families do attend the info session at the same time. A personal visit during daycare hours will be scheduled at a later date if you commit to enrolling your child.
If you are unable to make a scheduled interview or you are running late- please be courteous and call, text or email. No shows will not be rescheduled.
A Special Note to Parents:
Daycare should be a positive experience for every child that I care for. Therefore, I prefer to work with parents that feel the same way I do. I understand leaving your child in someone else's care daily is not always your ideal situation. However be that as it may, it is for this reason I prefer to surround myself and my work environment with warm, positive people who share my enthusiasm and sentiments for daycare. If you feel you may not fit this personality profile and/or not have the ability to leave negativity at the door, then Almost Home Daycare may not be the best fit for your needs. Yes, my main job and concern is to care for the children, but the relationship that develops between myself and parents, is to me, equally important. A consistent schedule is important to me and the way I run my daycare. I do expect you to drop your child off and pick them up at the same time each day. If this is not something you feel you are able to stick to, then Almost Home Daycare is not the right fit for your family.

Please read the page labeled "EXPECTATIONS" I have set expectations for the families I welcome into my home. After years of experience working with families, I am selective when enrolling.
After interviewing:
Please contact me via email almosthomedaycare@gmail.com within 48 hours with your desired start date and hours. A welcome packet will be emailed.
And as a reminder- Your child's spot is not guaranteed until your deposit and contract is received. Infant openings fill up very fast and for this reason, I cannot guarantee an opening for your until you have made a deposit and submitted a signed contract. Please don't delay if you feel like our daycare is a good fit for your family. Sometimes multiple families are interested in an opening at the same time and it is a first come, first serve protocol.
You can also check the First Day Checklist Page for enrollment requirements.
